Class 332 – Heathrow Express

Tonights new gallery consists of the Class 332 Heathrow Express (HEx) Electric Multiple Units (EMU) that run between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport.  The class 332 was built in 1997-1998 by Siemens and Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) at CAFs factory in Zaragoza, Spain.  All the units in the fleet were constructed to run as 4 car units but in 2002 five of the units were lengthened to 5 car units.

The fleet number range is as follows:

332 001 – 332 014, 332 005 – 332 009 are the lengthened 5 car units.

The above image was taken at London Paddington whilst waiting to board the overnight sleeper down to Par where I planned to get some images of CDA coded China Clay wagons on a rare day of sunlight during the summer months of 2011.
