Tamping the edges

With two days off and the belief the weather was going to bad, I made plans to sit in the lounge and do some background updates.  Of course, this meant Monday was rather nice and I could have happily sneaked up to Water Orton for some time on the footbridge, oh well.  Instead I sat and firstly uploaded some images of on-track plant which have been slowly growing in size on the hard drive.

The other uploads came about as part of the preparation work for the 2008 wagon lists.  You may have noticed just below the banner on this blog the words “Wagon Fleet Lists”.  A while back I uploaded the data from 2010, linking my images to the fleet lists.  Within the fleet lists are shown the operating pool the wagon was allocated to and also its design code as shown on TOPS.  I was working on the 2008 lists, getting them ready for upload when I remembered there were some shots I hadn’t uploaded from my trip up to Tees Yard.  The aim of the trip was to see what soon to be cut wagons were visible for photographs.  Truth be told, alas not many, but the ones I did record for posterity have now been uploaded.

Also uploaded were a few images to the CBA gallery.  Still working on the 2008 fleet lists.  The idea behind the fleet lists is to give a snapshot of what wagons were active in the year specified when the data was pulled from TOPS.  If a wagon number is not listed, it’s not to say it did not operate in the listed year but more to say, if it is listed, it did run on UK rails in the year specified.  If that makes sense?  Once 2008 is sorted then I’ll get things like pool lists and also CARKND description codes uploaded as listed on TOPS.
