The last round of night shifts meant it was time to photograph some interesting containers again.  The night shift seems to produce the interesting containers which is a shame as some of these could really do with some proper daylight.  My apologies for the quality of some of these shots, they were taken of inter-modals running at near line speed in the middle of the night so the camera was getting a real work out considering that detail is something I am looking for in the images.

Container T8024870-001 passes through Rugby on 4S88 16:15 Felixstowe to Coatbridge on the 10th April 2012

When these containers started to be transported there was much discussion as to their purpose and who they were for.   When being transported north these containers are given a transit number so they can be tracked.  They are sent north to the Aggreko factory at Dumbarton where they are fitted out with power generation equipment.  Once fitted out they are sent back down south again ready for use.  Aggreko have been awarded the contract for supplying tempory power supplies for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.  Below is the consist for 4S88 16:15 Felixstowe to Coatbridge Freightliner Terminal on the10th April 2012.  As you can see, it’s pretty easy to spot these in the consist list.

On the return they come back fitted out and fully branded with advertising markings.  They have also been renumbered to a non BIC code number, seen over a couple of nights were codes XAVB & XBNB.  Typically I didn’t get any shots of the XBNB to see if there were any differences.

The other novelty which caught me totally unaware when it came through was this CPGU coded container.  I did not have the camera ready or it set up correctly so although I  shot across two tracks and a platform I am happy with how the photos came out.
