Alphabet Update

The latest and ongoing updates consist of me clearing out the backlog of various types of wagon that I suppose you could say are the everyday workhorses of the railway, things like inter-modal flats and various hoppers.   The sort of things that generally make the brain go ‘yawn, all the same, boring…”.

So far I’ve worked through B, F & H coded wagons.  Two pictures I uploaded did not fall in the ‘everyday’ category.  Whilst at work on Friday 4th May 2012 a re-timed 6M76  21:36 (Thursday departure) from Mossend to Wembley Yard arrived in the goods loop north of the station.  This train normally passes through Rugby around 7am but on this day was re-timed to pass through around 10:30.  The only downside of this re-timing was I had trains to deal with, by the time I had despatched the train I was dealing with 6M76 had started to move from the yard but I had enough time to grab the camera, point it through the fencing and fire off some shots at the two wagons on the rear of the train.

The wagon below is utilised as a translator/brake force runner when moving various stock around the country.

Another image that caught my eye whilst uploading was the image below of HEA 361829 meeting the great scrap heap in the sky.
