RBA Update

Yes I know, absent again.  My apologies to those of you who may have wondered where I had departed to seeing as there has been a distinct lack of updates to the gallery website and this blog.  The last you heard from me I was in the middle of updating images from a trip to Switzerland at the start of the year.  Well by the time I had got as far as the Swiss gallery it was time for another excursion to Europe with a two day trip to Bremen.  I have only just finished cataloguing those images and here I am again, 24 hours away from another trip to Europe, more on that later.  The main purpose of this update is to get the latest wagon/van conversion out onto the internet.  Whilst I was at it I figured I would update the class 66/5 gallery seeing as I had the chance to point my camera at the freshly painted 66 504 in Freightliner Powerhaul livery.

So on with the latest wagon news.  On the same day the above image was taken the local enthusiasts at my station informed me a class 377  ‘Electrostar’ was going to be passing through the station later that evening.  Upon checking out the consist of the train I was drawn to TOPS code RBA…

As can be seen from the previous time I photographed this van, not a lot has changed on the exterior.

The obvious difference compared to the above image, the addition of Dellner coupling at one end to allow it to act as barrier vehicle.

Both RBAs have been placed in pool number 2212:

So the next update from me will be probably be after I return from Europe. This time I am off to Bremen & Hamburg for a few days then the sleeper to Zürich for the rest of the week down at Erstfeld.  Alas the weather looks like it will not be playing ball so expect some rain spotted images to be uploaded later this year.
